My final idea was to base images for shoot around Ophelia. Ophelia was a character in the play Hamlet written by William Shakespeare. I recently watched the film ‘Ophelia’ released in 2018 which was a recent adaptation of the play but from Ophelia’s point of view. I admired the way in which the scenes were filmed. They showcased fantasy and beauty with elements of danger and horror.
One scene in particular was the scene where ophelia floats in the river. This i felt would be perfect for a shoot to match the brief by constructing my own images.
There were also several famous paintings created inspired by this character. These were created by Sir John Everett Millais in 1851 from the same scene in the play.
